Disasters.
Emergency situations

Disasters. Emergency situations, they come in all shapes and forms.
And a disaster doesn't have to be on a massive scale to cause significant problems.

Infrastructure failure (electricity, telephones, water, gas, roads), computer crashes, staff shortages and patient overload;all That being the case, the next best thing to do is

ensure there are sound contingency plans in place to help you work through any emergency situation too frequently threaten the quality of our services. No matter how hard we try, it is impossible to eliminate altogether disasters or problems that lead to a state of emergency.

HEMNZ (Health Emergency Management in New Zealand) was established in 1998 to link people and organisations involved in the area of emergency and disaster management within the broad field of healthcare.

An emergency situation can be the result of natural and man-made disasters at any time. The only security we can offer is the benefit of experience and helping you prepare for the unthinkable.

One of the many benefits of belonging to the HEMNZ organisation is that we can share the knowledge and resources of the collective group.
Check out our resource page for information such as "Preparing a Contingency Plan".
Our links page has a number of suggested sites from within New Zealand and internationally.
