The basic purpose of a contingency plan is to provide an organisation or a section within an organisation, with a pre-planned booklet of practical guides and procedures for responding to any crisis or disaster.

This plan has been produced to provide a plan of action and guide for responding to any event that disrupts the normal operation of the Medical Centre. It should be adapted to best meet the particular circumstances of the event that causes the disruption.

This plan has been produced to provide a plan of action and guide for responding to any event that disrupts the normal operation of the pharmacy. It should be adapted to best meet the particular circumstances of the event that causes the disruption. The Plan will also be used to help sustain the operation of the pharmacy during a Civil Defence emergency.
District Health Board Plan (153kb download)
This plan provides an overview of how a DHB can make provision for a full and flexible response to and recovery from all manner of major incidents likely to diminish the health status of their resident populations. Such a plan meets the needs for a healthcare response to a Civil Defence declared emergency.
Hospital Emergency Flip-chart Template (44kb download)
The flip-chart template can be used as a reference to design your own in-house flip-chart system. They are an invaluable tool for quick reference to recommended procedures at the time of crisis. The flip-charts should be bright and clearly identifiable at high visibility points such as notice boards, workstations, assembly areas etc.
The chart has procedures for a range of crisis including fire, aggression, hold-ups, gas leaks, power-outs, poisons, bomb threats, natural disasters and more.
Community Services Emergency Flip-chart Template (57kb download)
The flip-chart template can be used as a reference to design your own in-house flip-chart system. Similar to the Hospital version above but modified to suit community service related emergency.
